The exhaust ducts on offshore rigs and platforms er utsatt for sterke krefter. Wind, platform movements and extreme heat from gas turbines leads to vibrations that causes wear and strain on exhaust ducts. Leakages of exhaust and heat can damage both people and equipment in the vicinity. Wear of exhaust ducts may in some cases lead to undesired start-stop events for the maintenance of gas turbines, which is a costly affair.
The Halvorsen INCO-FLEX Expansion Bellow absorbs movements from the platform deck and reduces the risk of metal expansion from thermal growth. In addition to minimizing damages on the exhaust ducts, it also prevents harmful high-temperature exhaust leakages. The Inco-Flex Bellow improves availability and reliability of the gas turbine.
The Inco-Flex is fabricated at Halvorsen sites in accordance with NORSOK standards, while also following customer and regulatory requirements.
In the last years Halvorsen has deliverd Inco-Flex for clients such as Statoil, ConocoPhillips and General Electric (GE).
